Here you will find out a little more about us:

Mel Greer-Walker

Mel Greer-Walker likes to pretend that she is far too young to have been wielding all manner of needles, pins and scissors for over thirty years. She is often to be found whizzing round the streets of Dulwich with various bits of yarn, thread and the odd knitting needle, crochet hook or small child hanging off her.

At the time she really wanted to be out climbing trees, but now she is forever grateful that her Great Aunt spent endless patient childhood hours teaching her to embroider, knit, crochet and all sorts of other lovely crafts. Mel’s most treasured possession is the sewing box she inherited, although Great Aunt would be horrified if she could see the tangle it’s in now.

Zoe Buckney

Eschewing the advice of her well-meaning Home Ec teacher, “Just make a pinny, dear”, Zoë’s first sewing project was a fully-lined, floor length pink taffeta wedding dress with puffed sleeves and covered buttons. And she loved it and wore it often, albeit only ever within the secure confines of her parents’ bungalow.

With her trusty Singer by her side, Zoë sewed her way through university and drama school, whipping up cocktail dresses for bright young things and costuming operas and plays on student budgets. She now spends many happy hours making flouncy frocks and spinny skirts for her daughter (but not yet for her baby son!). When not rummaging in the remnants bin, Zoë likes to race down mountains on a snowboard.
